The invention relates to an improvement in the process for producing an ether-like product that can be used in lubricating compositions for internal combustion engines.
There are various ether-like products derived from various acids and alcohols. Thus, an ester-based lubricating oil based on diisooctyl sebacate (DOS) or neopentyl esters of aliphatic acids, or pentaerythritol-based oil and fractions of normal fatty acids Su - C, or based on 2,2 dialkyl substituted alcohols and C 5 aliphatic acids are used. These esters are obtained by esterifying the corresponding acids and alcohols in the presence of an acidic catalyst 1.
However, these oils are characterized by a low pour point (-16) - (-39) C, flat in the viscous-temperature dependence, but do not have a high thermal stability. To increase the latter, aromatic esters are used, for which thermal stability is maintained up to 330 ° C.
The closest in technical essence to the present invention is a method for producing an ether-like product, by the interaction of two or more polyhydroxy compounds of the general formula

The proposed method is carried out as follows.
Example. For the reaction, 8.84 g (0.085 mol) of neopentyl glycol (NPG), 55.62 g (0.415 mol) of trimethylolpropane (TMP) with a molar ratio of NPG: TMP of 0.2049, 176 g (1.019 mol) of nonane acid (CQ) are used,
57.73 g (0.283 mol) of dodecanoic acid (.L 20.14 g (0.085 mol) of palmitic acid (C.,) and 7.30 g (0.028 mol) of stearic acid (C.g).
Heating of this mixture is carried out in a nitrogen atmosphere at a gradually increasing temperature from 120 to 210 ° C for 8 hours with the distillation of the reaction water in the presence of 1.5 g of methanesulfonic acid as an acidic catalyst.
